About UNIPORT CGPA
The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) runs a 5.0 CGPA scale. UNIPORT is recognised across the South-South region for its energy-sector-focused programmes (Petroleum Engineering, Gas Engineering) where CA weight runs higher than the national average.
How UNIPORT Grades Courses
UNIPORT scale: A (70+) = 5, B (60–69) = 4, C (50–59) = 3, D (45–49) = 2, E (40–44) = 1, F (0–39) = 0. Pass mark is 40. Pass courses for graduation must include all GNS, GES and faculty-core registrations.
Carry-Over Rules at UNIPORT
UNIPORT students must repeat any compulsory course graded F. Carry-overs accumulated over the duration of programme cap the maximum CGPA classification achievable. Students with a CGPA below 1.5 at the end of their second year are placed on warning.
