About YABATECH CGPA
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) is Nigeria's first higher institution and runs ND (National Diploma) and HND (Higher National Diploma) programmes on a 4.0 CGPA scale aligned with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) guidelines.
YABATECH Grading System
YABATECH polytechnic grade scale: A (75+) = 4, AB (70–74) = 3.5, B (65–69) = 3.25, BC (60–64) = 3, C (55–59) = 2.75, CD (50–54) = 2.5, D (45–49) = 2, E (40–44) = 1.5, F (below 40) = 0. ND and HND programmes are graded distinctly, your statement of result will state which scale applies.

Carry-Over Rules at YABATECH
YABATECH carry-overs must be repeated in the next academic session at the corresponding level. NBTE rules require all carry-overs to be cleared before HND admission for ND graduates and before degree classification at HND final year.

- First Class / Distinction: 3.50 and above
- Second Class Upper / Upper Credit: 3.00 – 3.49
- Second Class Lower / Lower Credit: 2.00 – 2.99
- Third Class / Pass: 1.00 – 1.99
- Pass: 1.00 – 0.99
